Bring the whole pack — tails are always welcome in our Dog Friendly Pub

At Ye Olde Bridge, we believe the best country pub lunch is one where nobody has to wait outside. Dogs are part of village life and ours, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

“There’s nothing better than a long walk through the Nottinghamshire countryside, followed by a proper pub lunch with your four-legged companion by your side.”

Nestled in the heart of the picturesque village of Oxton, Ye Olde Bridge has been a welcoming retreat for locals and visitors alike for generations. We know that for many of our guests, the dog isn’t just a pet — they’re family. That’s why we’ve made sure that wherever you choose to sit and eat, your dog is just as welcome as you are.

Whether you’ve worked up an appetite on the Nottinghamshire bridleways, explored the rolling countryside around Southwell, Rufford, Sherwood Pines or simply fancied a leisurely Sunday out, you’ll find a warm welcome waiting in our Dog Friendly Pub — for every member of your party.

We know that finding truly dog-friendly dining — not just a “dogs in the garden only” kind of welcome — can be harder than it should be. At Ye Olde Bridge, we mean it. Your dog is welcome with you at the table, in the bar, in our dining domes and of course out in the sunshine.

Good food for good humans (dogs too)

Our kitchen takes full advantage of being in the heart of the East Midlands countryside. Expect seasonal menus built around quality local produce — proper pub classics done right alongside more adventurous specials. Whether you’re after a hearty homemade Farmers Pie, freshly made sandwiches for a quick post-walk bite, or a full Sunday roast spread, there’s something to satisfy every appetite.

We also keep fresh water bowls topped up and a little something for your dog at the bar — because a well-fed dog is a happy dog, and a happy dog makes for a happy table. We even have sausages available to buy for your four legged friend.

The perfect base for a countryside day out

Oxton sits right on the edge of the Nottinghamshire countryside, making Ye Olde Bridge the ideal start or end point for a dog walk. The lanes and bridleways around the village offer everything from gentle strolls to longer hikes through the rolling hills towards Epperstone and beyond. Pack the dog lead, lace up your boots, and know that a good meal (and a well-deserved drink) is waiting for you when you’re done.

We’re proud to be a Dog Friendly Pub.
